Our Response To COVID-19

Updated March 16th, 2020

Dear Friends,

We want to take a moment to communicate with you regarding changes to our regular operational procedures in response to the recent development of COVID-19, commonly known as Coronavirus.  We imagine some of you feel stressed and uncertain about the future in different ways. Some of you may be worrying about your health or the health of others important to you. Some of you may be worrying financially, while others may be worrying about other aspects of life.  The team at JS Therapy Group, LLC would like to help you as much as we can in any way we can. For starters, we want to open a line of communication regarding these changes we are making to our practice.

First, at the present time we are moving forward with in-person sessions.  Therefore, we want to communicate our plan for keeping the office safe and healthy for you and your family in the following ways:

  • Sanitizing common areas that include frequently touched objects multiple times throughout the day

  • Removing all toys, games, magazines, and other commonly touched items in the offices

  • Avoiding physical contact (hugs and handshakes) and maintaining a 6-foot distance when possible

In addition, we ask that you help us keep our office safe and healthy by following these guidelines:

  • If you have a cough, fever, sore throat, non-allergy related sneezing, runny nose, or any symptoms that are abnormal to you, we ask that you refrain from coming into the office for 14 days. You must be fever free for at least 14 days without the aid of a fever reducer before coming into our office.

  • Please follow the CDC guidelines regarding personal hygiene: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. We recommend doing this before and after your sessions in the office.

  • Avoid touching your face as much as possible.

Second, we want to be prepared for the future as guidelines for social distancing and groups change.  We also want to honor any desires to not come to the office. For this reason, we are offering telehealth to all clients.  This is what you should know about telehealth:

  • These sessions can be done on pretty much any smartphone, tablet, or computer, and are done via a secure, HIPAA compliant platform.

  • As most insurance companies are covering telehealth sessions, we are offering these as an alternative as needed (we can check your specific policy to ensure your plan covers telehealth).

  • If your insurance does not cover telehealth or if it is not appropriate, then we will understandably cancel your appointment.  As always, please give us at least a 24-hour notice prior to the start of your appointment time.

  • We understand some individuals may not feel comfortable with telehealth.  Please speak with your therapist. We’re happy to do what we can to make telehealth feel safe.  If you still do not feel safe, we understand that you many need to pause treatment. We will do the best we can to fit you back into your therapist’s schedule once we return to regular operational procedures.

  • If you would like to switch to telehealth, please speak with your therapist.  We will need to take a few additional steps to ensure telehealth is appropriate for you and for you to give informed consent pertaining to telehealth.

Thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this process. We will be monitoring the situation closely and keep all of our clients updated as things progress.

Lastly, don’t forget to take a moment to slow down, and breathe--we will all get through this.

Sincerely,

The Team at JS Therapy Group, LLC
